I went to Nashville, Tennessee for a conference in June 2017.  I expected to see cowboy hats and hear country music everywhere.  I’m just not a fan of either, so I was pleasantly surprised to find Nashville to be quite bourgie.   I stayed at the posh boutique hotel, Thompson Nashville.  The food and the decor definitely met my standards.  In the evening, the roof top bar & restaurant was the place to see and be seen.

Country music wasn’t the only gig in town.  I found salsa dancing at Salsa Puerto Rican Restaurant and also at the gay-friendly, Play Dance Bar.  Did I mention the bonus drag show?

Nashville definitely brought out the foodie in me.  I could have eaten my way through the conference, and I probably did.  The number of highly-rated restaurants were just too numerous for me to tackle during a week long visit.
